Sten @ THREEPOINTZERO
Sten @ THREEPOINTZEROGamer · Co-op picks

At THREEPOINTZERO we love games — and most of all split-screen couch co-op, where you sit next to each other on the sofa and play on the same screen. We already ranked our best co-op games of 2026. This is the other side: the local co-op games we're looking forward to in 2027.

Everything below is announced with confirmed local/couch co-op as of November 2026 — tagged Dated (release date set), Announced (2027 window) or Rumour. Release dates move, so check the official store page before you plan a game night around one.

1. Stage FrightAnnounced

Release: Spring 2027
Platforms: PC, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2
Local co-op: 2 players, co-op only, split-screen (plus online)

The next game from Ghost Town Games — the Overcooked team — published by Hello Games. Two players get stuck in different realities on a vertical split-screen, and what you do on your side changes the other. It's a co-op-only puzzle adventure, the same lane as It Takes Two and Split Fiction.

Coming from the studio that made the best couch chaos game ever, this is top of our watchlist.

2. Trine 6: Together in TimeDated

Release: March 4, 2027
Platforms: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2
Local co-op: 1–4 players on the same couch, plus online

Trine has been a couch co-op staple for years: a wizard, a thief and a knight solving physics puzzles with each other's abilities. Trine 6 got delayed to March 2027, but it's dated, on every platform and supports four players locally.

Great pick for mixed groups — easy to understand, gorgeous to look at.

3. Age TwistersAnnounced

Release: 2027
Platforms: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2
Local co-op: 2 players, local co-op (shared/split-screen) and online

A two-player narrative co-op adventure from Piccolo Studio (the team behind Arise: A Simple Story), published by KRAFTON. Early previews describe it as warm and heartfelt with a parent-and-child theme — the kind of story co-op Hazelight fans are hungry for.

4. Kingdom III: Rising RealmsAnnounced

Release: 2027
Platforms: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2
Local co-op: 2 players split-screen, plus online

Kingdom Two Crowns is one of the most underrated split-screen games out there — two monarchs on horseback building and defending a kingdom together. Kingdom III is the next full entry, and the split-screen co-op is coming back.

5. Arizona Sunshine (remake)Dated

Release: January 21, 2027 (PC, PS5)
Platforms: PC, PS5 — Xbox and Switch 2 versions also listed
Local co-op: 2 players local split-screen, plus online

The VR zombie shooter is coming back as a flat-screen, third-person remake — and it supports two-player split-screen. If you liked our Black Ops Zombies picks, this is the zombie couch shooter to watch in early 2027.

6. He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of DestructionDated

Release: February 4, 2027
Platforms: PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox (PlayStation version also listed)
Local co-op: Couch co-op, same screen

A retro-style action game from Bitmap Bureau (Final Vendetta) with couch co-op on one screen. Classic pick-up-and-play stuff for a Friday night — grab a second controller and fight through Eternia together.

7. Greak 2: Alliance of the StormsAnnounced

Release: 2027
Platforms: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch
Local co-op: Couch co-op, plus online

The first Greak was a hand-drawn adventure where you swap between siblings solo. The sequel, published by Team17, adds proper couch co-op — which is exactly what that formula needed.

8. Bloodstained: The Scarlet EngagementAnnounced

Release: 2027
Platforms: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S
Local co-op: 2 players local co-op (split-screen on PC; shared screen on console)

A new Bloodstained adventure from 505 Games with two-player local co-op. Note: split-screen is listed for PC, while console local co-op shares one screen — still couch-friendly either way.

9. BlightedAnnounced

Blighted by Drinkbox Studios key art

Release: 2027
Platforms: PC, Nintendo Switch 2
Local co-op: Couch co-op, plus online

Drinkbox Studios made Guacamelee, one of the best couch co-op platformers ever. Blighted is their next action-platformer RPG, and couch co-op is listed. That studio pedigree alone puts it on our list.

10. Outward 2PC early access

Outward 2 key art

Release: Early access February 7, 2027 (PC)
Platforms: PC (consoles not announced yet)
Local co-op: 2 players horizontal split-screen, plus online

A hardcore survival RPG that's rare in one way: it does split-screen on PC. Not a console game yet, but if you have a gaming PC hooked up to the TV, this is a deep co-op adventure for two.

11. Hazelight's next gameRumour / teased

Release: Not announced
Platforms: Not announced
Local co-op: Unknown — Hazelight only makes co-op games

Not a confirmed 2027 game, so treat this as a rumour. Josef Fares has confirmed Hazelight is working on its next title after Split Fiction and claims it's better, and behind-the-scenes motion capture photos sparked talk of three-player co-op. No title, date or platforms yet — but if it lands in 2027, it goes straight to #1.

The list will change as 2027 announcements land — we'll update it when new couch co-op games get confirmed. Until then, catch up on the best co-op games to play right now.
